First year Medical Students, our "Text book of Medical Biochemistry" will be published this year (2014). Biochemistry has enormous impact on the understanding and maintenance of health and understanding and effective treatment of disease. Biochemical tests are being used to study basic aspects of pathology. Biochemical approaches are being used exclusively in hematology, microbiology, immunology, transfusion medicine, and histopathology-techniques. Pharmacy, toxicology and pharmacology studies are based on sound knowledge of biochemistry. Clinical Biochemistry deals with the biochemistry laboratory applications to find out cause of a disease. The chemical constituents of various body fluids such as blood (serum or plasma), urine, CSF and other body fluids are analyzed in a clinical biochemistry laboratory.
Medical students find this subject most difficult to understand. We have made learning most enjoyable with the introduction of our "Text Book" on medical biochemistry.
